A speech screening is just a short, informal check of how your child is communicating. We look at things like how they say speech sounds at the word and sentence level. It only takes a few minutes and helps us see if their speech skills are on track for their age or if we need to refer for a full speech evaluation. If we notice any areas that might need extra support, we can talk about the next steps together. The goal is simply to catch any concerns early so your child has the best chance to succeed.

Screening Pricing - approximately 15 minutes - $25

A speech evaluation is a more in-depth assessment of your child’s speech and communication skills. During the session, I’ll use a standardized test, informal assessment, and other activities to look closely at how your child uses and pronounces speech sounds at the word, phrase, and conversational level. This approximately takes 1-2 hours. When we’re done, I’ll share a detailed picture of their strengths and any areas where they may need extra support - within a report. From there, we can talk about whether therapy would be helpful and create a plan that’s right for your child.

A literacy evaluation is a thorough assessment that helps us understand how your child is developing reading and writing skills. During the evaluation, I’ll look at things like their letter and sound knowledge, phonological awareness, phonics, decoding, reading fluency, comprehension, and spelling. We’ll use a mix of activities and standardized tools to see exactly where they’re doing well and where they might need some extra support. Afterward, I’ll go over the results with you in detail and talk about the best next steps to help your child continue to develop foundational and ongoing literacy skills.
